From the struggle for freedom to the digital age, South Africa's journey forward has been an interesting one.
On April 27, 1998, the fourth anniversary of Freedom Day, then-President Nelson Mandela said "As we celebrate our Freedom Day, we must remember that our freedom was not free. It was won through the blood, sweat, and tears of those who came before us. We must honour their sacrifices by continuing to work towards a more just and equitable society."
Today, South Africa continues to face many challenges, including poverty, inequality, and corruption. However, there are also many reasons to be hopeful. The country has made significant progress in areas such as education, healthcare, and economic development, and there are many inspiring individuals and organisations working to create a better future for all South Africans.
Boxfusion is one such organisation. We are a proudly South African tech company working to develop cloud-based digital solutions for the government to help improve the delivery of public services and promote greater efficiency and transparency.
Our longest-standing customer is the National Department of Social Development, where we’ve assisted them with conceptualisation, business case development, and architecting the National Integrated Social Information System. We’ve also played a significant part in the programme management of the National Integrated Social Information System.
Recognition & Awards
Boxfusion has also won a number of awards for our innovative solutions, including several awards from the State Information Technology Agency. Last year, we won the SITA’s Award for Digital Governance and was placed second in SITA’s ICT Large Companies category.
We’ve also won several Microsoft Partner Awards due to our use of Microsoft technologies, including Industry Solution Public Sector Partner of the Year in 2022, and Emerging ISV Partner of the Year in 2020.
All of this demonstrates the success we’ve enjoyed thanks to our efforts to contribute to the building of a better, technology-rich and future-proof South Africa, using cloud-based solutions that enhance the effectiveness of the South African government. These, in turn, have significant positive knock-on benefits for all citizens of the country.
Furthermore, by harnessing the power of Microsoft’s Azure cloud, and by using our own in-born ingenuity and passion for innovation, we are helping to build a more inclusive and equitable society in South Africa, one that honours the sacrifices of those who fought for freedom while also working towards a brighter future for all.
Happy Freedom Day, South Africa.
As we celebrate our Freedom Day, we must remember that our freedom was not free.
